Raleigh Restaurants

One of the reasons I love Raleigh so much is that there are so many places to eat! I'm kind of a foodie and I love trying new restaurants. My mom and I have decided that we're going to try a new restaurant at least once or twice a month. I'm going to try to keep track on my blog!

The Pipers Tavern - This is a cute little restaurant that happens to be right down the road from my office. My mom and Aunt have been raving about their crab cakes so I had to try them out for myself! They were definitely super delicious! I'm pretty sure I could eat crab cakes every day for the rest of my life. The Pipers also has live music which is a bonus!
Mellow Mushroom - I LOVE Mellow Mushroom. The inside décor is very cool and it's a laid back atmosphere, which I love. I'm actually not sure I've had more than one of their specialty pizzas but the red skin potato pie is to die for. So good! Probably the best pizza I've had.

La Rancharita (Crabtree) - If you like Mexican food...go here! About 10 of my family members went here for a birthday dinner and everyone said their food was delicious. And they have really good margaritas :) Most times I think Mexican food is too greasy and it makes my stomach hurt afterwards, but La Rancharita wasn't nearly as greasy and I felt great after I ate my enchiladas!

Twisted Fork (Triangle Town Center) - I wasn't terribly impressed with Twisted Fork. I had barbeque and I'm not used to North Carolina BBQ so I wasn't a huge fan. When I eat BBQ I want actual BBQ sauce...not vinegar. But I guess I better get used to it! It came with fried okra which I also didn't like. The mac & cheese wasn't great either. But it did have a great local beer selection!

Bonefish Grill (North Hills) - So good! If you like seafood this is a great place to go. It's on the expensive side, but not outrageous. The atmosphere was very laid back for as nice of a place as it is. The servers were very good and the food was amazing. I had Maryland crab cakes, grilled asparagus, and mashed potatoes...yum!

Firebirds (North Hills) - The inside of this place is really cool. It has a mountainy/cabin feel...at least that's what I think of it. The only complaint I have was the hostesses were really bad. They forgot about us while we were waiting and didn't say a word when we walked out. But our food was great...they have really good burgers! It's definitely nicer than just a burger joint, with entrees around and above $20.
