7 questions

1. Do you ever have reoccurring dreams?
Not anymore...I used to have the same dream about brushing my teeth and then all of a sudden the sink was full of all my teeth and a ton of blood...not a fan of that one.

2. It's the first day of Fall (or Spring for you southern hemispherers) in a few days, what are you looking forward to most?
Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks. Sweatshirt weather. Holidays. This will be the first year I'll get trick or treaters at my house!!

3. Because a lack of coordination, would you rather not be able to tie your shoes or cut your own food?
Tie my own shoes...I'd just wear slip ons or flip flops which I wear 75% of the time anyways.

4. Would you rather live in a house made entirely of glass or a house with no windows?
A house made entirely of glass...There's always curtains or something?!

5. Would you rather walk on you toes or heels forever?
Toes...I feel like that is easier.

6. What's your favorite sense? (you have 5 btw)
Sight...I'm so thankful to have all of my senses but my sight especially. I have really sensitive eyes and sometimes I get scared that I'll go blind someday. Weird I know. A good friend of Rayce's family was in a motorcycle accident when he was young and lost his sense of smell and taste...that'd be so strange! Moral of the story....wear helmets!

7. What's your favorite movie quote of all time?
I really can't answer this...I'm the worst with movie quotes. People always say them and I'm like...What? I don't get it...and then they tell me it's from a movie. I never know what the hell they're talking about.

Me, Myself, and I

1. When you're feeling down, what do you do to pick yourself up?
I asked Rayce what I do and he said "you don't really do anything...you're just kind of a grump for awhile" ha I suppose that's true. I'll usually just try to talk it out. Most likely to/with Rayce or I'll call my mom or Maddie or Miranda. Those are the 4 people I talk to about everything.
2. If you had to live in a different time period which would you prefer?
The 80s! (Is that really a different time period?) I was born in the 80s but I think it would have been so much fun to be a teenager during this time. The big hair, big shoulders, legwarmers, huge sweaters...I love it all!

3. What is the most creative Halloween costume you've ever worn?
I'm not a huge fan of dressing up for Halloween. It's expensive! Last year I didn't dress up.
The year before that...
A flapper

The year before that...
A devil...not sure what I'm doing in this picture.

4. Five weird things about you we wouldn't know without being told?
1. I'm scared of raccoons.
2. I get goosebumps every time I sneeze.
3. One of my eyes is near sighted and one is far sighted. (This may be normal?)
4. I have no idea what I want to do with my life. Like not even a clue.
5. I hate dresses. I think they look weird on me.

5. What would you tell your 16-year-old self?
Don't start smoking...it was your worst/nastiest habit for 5ish years. Try harder in school, maybe pick up a book? Listen to your parents -they are almost always right. Play basketball -you'll regret it if you don't. Don't put up with that boy treating you very badly. Ya know your good friend Rayce? Yeah you'll end up marrying him someday, but don't date him now...it's not the right time (but don't blow him off when you see him at a Mojos Pizza House in college...not nice) Most of all...don't be afraid to be yourself and take care of yourself.

Healthy breakfast/snack

I have a love for smoothies. Like I have one for breakfast every day. So I'm going to share with you how I like to make my smoothies, and tell you that you should definitely go make one...like now! Bonus: it's healthy! I don't measure anything when I make these...you can add more or less of anything. It's a personal preference.

All you need is:
Any kind of fresh fruit
Any kind of frozen fruit
Milk
Low fat vanilla yogurt
Blender (duh)

For the one I'm currently drinking (delicious) I used 1 banana, 1 plum, some frozen peaches, and a blend of frozen mango, strawberries, and pineapple. I like to buy the giant great value bags. And I like to use skim milk and low fat yogurt just because it's less fat but you don't have to.

I buy different fruit every time I buy groceries. I buy a lot of fresh strawberries, mango, and occasionally kiwi as well as frozen blueberries. You can really use any kind of fruit and any flavor of yogurt. This is a really delicious snack! GO TRY IT!

Addison Margaret Greene

Today is Addison Margaret Greene's 3rd birthday. Unfortunately, she isn't here spending it with her mommy, daddy, and baby sister Lela. Addison is my cousin Heather's daughter, stillborn on September 4, 2009.

Isn't she beautiful?

My cousin Heather wrote this poem for Addison...only a mother could write something like this.

Happy Birthday, Addison Margaret.

Forever My Baby

Addison Margaret, you would be three.
And oh, what a beautiful three you would be!
I think you'd have skin like a porcelain doll
With fingers like mine, and a frame that is small.
Your hair would be long with a little girl's shine,
and would show all the colors of red, just like mine.

I imagine you holding my hand as we walk
and hearing you squeal or excitedly talk
as your eyes fall upon something they've never seen.
Your eyes...I bet they're an emerald green.

You wouldn't have freckles
Not yet, anyway.
Those would come later, when you're five I would say.

I think you'd be thoughtful
With a heart true and kind
You'd be smart as a whip with a curious mind!

I'd be watching you skip, and hearing you sing
And wondering what kind of new joy you'd bring.
I bet you'd love dancing and painting your nails
Wearing high heels, and telling great tales!

Would you love to wear dresses?
Would you walk on tip toes?
Would you snort when you laughed and crinkle your nose?
Would you prance in a room and command every eye, or gracefully enter all quiet and shy?

As I dream of the little girl happy and free.
The sweet little girl that I wish you could be.
I'm reminded these images flooding my mind
Are just that, fleeting moments where I'm hoping to find
A connection to you where my heart can hold on.
Forgetting for once that you're actually gone.

While I know this September you'll be turning three,
My heart knows forever my baby you'll be.

Heather Maureen Greene
