Diamond Dash!

Saturday Rayce and I participated in the "Midwest's largest scavenger hunt" put on by a big jewelry store in our hometown. The 1st place winners won a $10,000 diamond ring. It was awesome. It was also the most exhausting thing I've physically done maybe ever.
We had to download an app for it that gave us our clues to the next destination. At every destination we had to either answer a question, perform a task, or play a little game. There were 29 destinations all over town. That's a lot. It ended up being around 7 miles which I was not prepared for. We started at the jewelry store and our first destination was the high school which was the furthest we had to run the whole time. When we got there Rayce had to put on a tutu and go around a jungle gym thing.
This is our friend Brandon...I suck and didn't take any pictures of me and Rayce...I'm real sad and pissed about it
We had to go to a bar and play beer pong until we got 3 balls in the cups. We had to go to the gym and do behind the back medicine ball toss things. We had to go to the park and bob for apples. We had to pick up crickets and move them from box to box. We had to stick our hands in a porta potty (a brand new one, thank god) and pull stuff out of it. And a ton more fun stuff! It was long and hot and sweaty and I thought I was going to die at least 22 times but it was really fun to do as a couple.
It showed that we are a really good team. I literally wanted to quit when we got to the high school...the very first stop. But Rayce encouraged me the whole time and told me how good I was doing. One time I told him to go ahead of me and that I'd catch up and he said nope, we're doing this together. It was really nice that he wanted to do it with me as much as I wanted to with him. He didn't get mad when I had to walk or take a break. He asked a stranger for water out of his hose because we ran out and I was thirsty. He gave me one of his socks and did the race with one bare foot because I was getting a blister.
He's pretty great :)
We didn't win diamond ring, or the trip to Hawaii or Vegas, or the fancy watches. We actually didn't win anything. But it was really really fun and that's all that matters!

That time I cried over grilled cheese

The other night at the gym I was just having an off day...which happens semi regularly for me. I could only run 3/4 of a mile and nothing felt good or right when I was lifting. When this happens I get so frustrated and annoyed and sad that I'm not doing better. Rayce could tell that I was upset and tried to make me feel better and we talked about how I need to really be more strict about what I eat. Particularly I need more protein.
I of course didn't want to hear any of this and just wanted to sulk and hate on myself because I ate TWO grilled cheese sandwiches at work for lunch that day. Gross. At that moment when I was so upset at the gym and feeling like crap I just felt so so bad about myself. I'm not eating good enough. I'm not working out hard enough. Why am I not getting the results I want? All because of the grilled cheese(s). I did one bad thing and it ruined my whole night.
So on the way home from the gym...I cried. Sometimes it just gets to me. I've changed my lifestyle so much and I feel like I should have lost more weight/inches by now. I know I'm significantly stronger and healthier than I was 8 months ago but sometimes I don't feel like I am. I've only lost 4 pounds. I still get discouraged. I still pinch my fat rolls and want to barf. I still pull at my clothes to hide my fat. I still feel uncomfortable with myself.
But I'm working on it. I go to the gym and work my ass off 5 days a week. I eat healthy almost all the time. I need to make it all the time...but I do pretty damn good. I can't let one mistake break me. It's ok to acknowledge negative feelings and have a small mental long as you build yourself back up again and keep truckin' along makin' progress!

Get to know the boyfriend

Awhile back Rayce made a list of random shit about me for a link up and I loved it. So, for shits and gigs I'm going to make a list of random shit about Rayce.

And go.
Falls asleep within seconds (usually)
Hates any vegetable besides potatoes and corn
Pushes glasses up with index's the cutest
Freak about dishes. He hates water spots so when he washes dishes he spends like 34 minutes per dish...I won't complain
Not a dog's an issue
Very family oriented
Could talk about cars and motorcycles for days and days...not even exaggerating
Gets the giggles when drunk
Plays with my hair/scratches my head at night because he knows I love it
Makes the best pancakes
Not a sports fan...except for racing (not Nascar) and UFC fights
Only alcohol he will drink is Jagermeister mixed with Monster...(vomit)

Hates his nose and his glasses touched...not allowed!

Knows a little about a lot...he's had a lot of different jobs that have given him great experience in a lot of things

Names animals. Usually wants to name them Steve. Whether it be the wild bunnies in our back yard or the neighbor's horse.

Always browsing Craigslist for his next car/motorcycle purchase. It's out of control. Boys and their toys...

Makes a ton of sacrifices for me and his family

Treats me better than I probably deserve and loves me for my crazy ass self

The end.

Sunday social!

Sunday Social
1. What are 3 items you can’t live without on a daily basis (water, food, shelter, and clothes don’t count)?
-Iphone...for when I'm away from my computer, obviously

2. What is your all time favorite book? Why?
Hmm...I'm not a reader. The last book I read was this one
The Long Hard Road out of Hell by Marilyn Manson
I'm sure a lot of people will roll their eyes or make a scrunchy disgusted face at this but seriously it's an awesome book. I read it in like two days. It's crazy to see all the crazy/effed up shit he's done in his life. But really, he's an incredibly smart man if you listen to him speak.

3. What is something you’d like to accomplish before the end of 2013?
Lose weight/tone up/continue to work out and get healthy

4. If you could go back and relive any year of your life which year would it be?
Any year from college except my senior year that I spent dating a douchebag...
Freshman year in the dorms. Met so many great friends and had a blast!
Lived with the best roomie EVER! Had so much fun living the single life with my best friend, Maddie. So many great memories from that year.
Junior year...had a blast with a new group of roommates and had the time of my life Spring breaking in South Padre!!

5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
That I'm not comfortable around new people. I've gotten more anti-social since's not good.
Have a great week, everyone!!
